Increase Alexa Rank Quickly in 2019 (Best Tricks to
Improve Ranking)

How can I increase my Alexa rank? Are there any tricks or tips that will boost my Alexa score? Does the Alexa Rank even matter?
For a lot of website owners and new bloggers, it’s hard to get traffic and have a lower Alexa Rank.

Nothing is more frustrating that putting amazing content out there just to find out that is not serving a purpose because no one is reading it. ?

Knowing how to SEO a site and how to write the perfect blog post are key to gathering traffic that will eventually help you improve your Alexa Rank and will get you tons of Adsense revenue.

Before we dig deeper into how to boost your Alexa, let’s start with the basics.

What is Alexa and what is the Alexa Rank?

Alexa (acquired by Amazon and the almighty Jeff Bezos) is a company that maintains traffic data regarding websites, and it’s mostly known for its website rank information, called the Alexa Rank.

The Global Alexa Rank indicates how popular your site is around the world and the Local Alexa Rank shows popularity in the country that the domain has been registered in.

Where can you get your Alexa Rank?

Here you can find the Alexa Rank of your own site.
Additionally, if you are like me and check your Alexa Rank constantly, you can install the Alexa Traffic Chrome Extension or SEOQuake (which will give you other useful SEO data), so you can quickly see the rank of any page you are visiting.

Does the Alexa Rank matter? Why should anyone care?

The Alexa Rank is a very important tool for marketers as it shows the advertising potential of a site. The lower the number, the more traffic that the site gets and thus the more people that ads can be served to.
Domains with lower Alexa Rank are generally regarded as more valuable than domains with higher Alexa Rank.
Having a low Alexa Score can increase the CPC that you get through your Ad network or even help you land nice native advertisers on your site.
Therefore, lowering the Alexa Rank of your site could prove beneficial for your business.

What factors affect the Alexa Rankings?

According to the Alexa Blog on “how to improve your alexa rank”:
“Every day, Alexa estimates the average daily visitors and pageviews to every site over the past 3 months. The site with the highest combination of visitors and pageviews over the past 3 months is ranked #1.”
In my own experiments I’ve also found that there are multiple other variables (ranked in order of importance) that play a role in the Alexa Rank algorithm. This include:

• Traffic from people that use the Alexa Toolbar (which is a horrible estimation of number of site visitors)

• Number of page views

• Time spent on site per visitor

• Bounce Rate and CTR (Click-through-rate). Learn how to increase your CTR.

• Quality and Diversity of the views

• Number of inbounds links to site (also known as backlinks)

• Social Media share, likes, comments count

• Site Load Speed (which leads to visitors not leaving your site so quickly)

• Site UX/UI

Do Alexa Rankings affect SEO or traffic?

There’s no direct correlation between SEO and Alexa Rank.
However, a lower Alexa Rank might imply high amounts of traffic which could be related to having SEO blog posts on the first page of Google.
Sites that have their Alexa Rank under 10k, are probably enjoying a good chunks of visitors from the SERPs (Search Engine Results Page).

How many views do I need to be on the top 100,000 sites on the Alexa Rank?

Google Analytics and Alexa report different numbers.
For instance I have 2 sites on the top 100,000 which report traffic of 30,000 (ranked #99k) and 150,000 visitors per month (ranked #70k).
So here are some rough numbers for a month of traffic:

• Top 100,000 = 1000 visitors per day.

• Top 50,000 = 5000 visitors per day.

• Top 20,000 = 10000 visitors per day.

• Top 10,000 = 25000 visitors per day.

• Top 5,000 =  more than 50000 visitors per day.

• People in the past quickly increased their Alexa Rank by using these methods:

The actual fool-proof method to improve your Alexa Ranking (for free)

1.  Actually write amazing content of 2500+ words. If you want to do SEO yourself, here are some SEO tips that might help.

• If you want to attract webmasters (i.e. people that will most likely have the Alexa Toolbar installed) then you should write content that they will most likely read like SEO, digital marketing, etc. If you are writing for moms, talk about newborns, trolleys, baby formulas, etc.

• Did you know RankBrain is the 3rd most important SEO factor when it comes to rankings?

2. More importantly, share that content everywhere (on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Pinterest) and get unique page views. You can also try running FB ads to get some more social traffic.

3. Get high-quality backlinks and do guest posts on other sites to improve your domain authority. (Did you know I accept guest posts on 4 different sites I own?)

By increasing your domain authority you will have a much easier time ranking your content, which will drive your visits up and will boost your Alexa Rank.

4. Constantly refresh your old articles (that might have dropped in traffic volume) and also stay up-to-date with the latest SEO changes.

5. Get covered on major media and drive more traffic to your site.

Why great content is key to improving your Alexa Rank and your blog in general

Every time you write an amazing piece of content, you have an opportunity to rank that blog post high on Google and thus drive additional visitors to your site.
More importantly, when you write a great post, you also can turn cold traffic into fans, customers and supporters. These people will keep coming back to your site without you needing to remind them

How can you write great content?

Great content starts with solid keyword research.
If what you write is not something people are searching for, then it won’t help you increase your traffic.
Great content has the following characteristics:

• It answers the users questions

• It is thorough (2000+ words)

• It contains everything you could possibly want to know about that topic

• It is easy to read and it is actionable, backed by data or experiences

• It is presented with great UI and UX

New tricks to boost Alexa Rank fast in 2019

It wouldn’t be a classic Alejandro post if I didn’t show you a script-based way to solve a problem, would it?

Ok, so here are the simple steps to lower that Alexa Rank:

1.Install the dumb Alexa Toolbar on multiple browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc).

2. Download your favorite VPN (I like Windscribe) and connect to it.

3. Go to PageReboot on every browser, put your site and set the refresh time every 60 seconds (or longer if you’re patient).

4. Sit back, relax, read another one of my blog posts, and wait for about 15-20 min.

5. You can change the country in Windscribe now.

6. (Optional but recommended if you have the budget) Get your Alexa page certified by buying one of their plans.

For best results, do this at different times of the day and also change your IP Address every 10 or so minutes.
Your Alexa Rank should update every day if you have a rank < 100,000 or every week otherwise, so expect to see the results of the boost in about two weeks or so.

Other blackhat methods to improve the Alexa Rank of your site

  1. Don’t have time? Buy a fake rank by hiring someone on Fiverr

2. Use an Alexa boosting service like RankBoostUp.

3. (Not necessarily blackhat) Buy a highly trafficked domain and redirect it to your site. i.e. CNN.com -> theinsurancenerd.com

Aside: Which sites are in the Alexa Top 10 Global?

According to Alexa Top Sites, these are the most visited sites in the world in 2019:

1.Google

2.Youtube

3. Facebook

4. Baidu

5. Wikipedia

6. QQ

7. Taobao

8. Tmall

9. Yahoo

10. Amazon

11. Flux Chargers (jokes)

12. AlejandroRioja.com (soon!)

So, what is a good Alexa Rank number?

That is a highly subjective question.
That is a highly subjective question.I know many bloggers that would kill for a global rank under 100k. For others that numbers is still too high.
I think 100k is a good metric for bloggers whose main job is not blogging, especially since at <100k the metrics reported by Alexa get more and more accurate.
At the same time, I suggest that instead of just looking at a number in isolation, you compare that number with other blogs you like and that are in your industry.
For instance if you write about cooking, you can compare your site to AllRecipes (Alexa Rank = 692) and Martha Stewart (Alexa Rank = 5.3k) or even Jamie Oliver (8k).
Ultimately, the number doesn’t matter much as long as your main objective is accomplished. I know many thriving ecommerce stores whose Alexa is well over 500k.

Benefits of having a lower Alexa

Assuming your Alexa rank is legit and hasn’t been tampered, there are some good benefits you can expect from a lower number:

1. You will get more business. A lot of bloggers will reach out to guest write on your site and people might trust you more.

2. Your site will be referenced and copied more (i.e. backlinks). A lot of bots are running around copying content from different sites that generate traffic. Most of the times you will garner new links this way. Since these copied sites usually have lower Domain Authority, your site won’t be affected by duplicate content penalties.

3. You can see other interesting metrics on the Alexa rank page such as these audience demographics on Gender, Education and Location:

4. You will be able to brag to your friends

Conclusion about the Alexa Rank

So there are two ways to grow your Alexa: either through content that SEOs to the top or by means of scripts and fake traffic with the Alexa Toolbar installed (or an Alexa booster service).

If you’re wondering… No, I didn’t use this to modify my Alexa.

I care about accurate metrics and my traffic comes from search and social.
I would honestly strongly advise against using any sort of blackhat or hackish ways to increase your rank because in the long run those will hurt your business. The best way is to simply create amazing content and grow a business out of it.
